About the Founder/Authoress

Rochelle S. Morrishaw was born and raised in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. She now resides in Toledo, Ohio with her five children and mother. She is the Founder, and CEO of the 501(c)3 grassroots Non-Profit organization headquartered in Greater Northwest Ohio named Women Helping Encouraging Women aka WHEW, Inc. The organization provides emotional and practical support for women and their families that are affected by crime and traumatic events. They specialize in assisting clients with transitioning into safer and healthier environments. This process includes individual and group therapy sessions, as well as Dance Movement Therapy supported by connecting clients with essential services such as legal, economic services, and addiction recovery. Their goal is to assist clients in removing physical and emotional barriers associated with abuse. Rochelle herself is a Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault/Rape, Child Abuse/Neglect victim and is now a Registered Advocate in the State of Ohio. Her mother and one of her daughter is also a survivor. As a teenager Rochelle was raped the night before her 14th birthday. Diving into education, and entertainment helped to empower her, so, in turn, she uses dance, and education to help others regain their strength and power through her Caribbean-styled mobile dance studio. She loves everything about music, dancing, entertainment, and performing arts.
Rochelle graduated with her degree in Criminal Justice. Originally, her heart was set on becoming an Officer of the Law to put the bad guys & gals away, but she had a change of heart. Rochelle and her mother are both survivors of Domestic Violence, & Sexual Assault, so it has become a passion for her to be there for victims of crime that has or are going through what she & her mother sadly experienced on more than one occasion. Rochelle says, "It is more important for me to help others heal & regain their self-love, strength, confidence, and power - over spending my time & life chasing irresponsible, disrespectful fools. I'll let God & other Law Enforcement agents handle them"! Rochelle is a down-to-earth, transparent, helpful, caring, people person who that prays crime will halt.
